Acer to bring Ivy Bridge CPUs to desktops soon

PC maker Acer and sub-brand Gateway have revealed a couple of new PCs, the Predator AG3620 and the DX4860-UR14P, respectively. Both lines will offer Intel's latest Ivy Bridge processors. Acer will get the new chips first, however, starting with the 3.4GHz Core i7-3770.

The AG3620 will also get NVIDIA's GeForce GT 630 along with 16GB of RAM and a 2TB hard drive. This model will cost about $1,200.

The Gateway DX4860-UR14P will arrive with a 3.1GHz Core i5-3450. It will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space. Integrated Intel HD graphics will help to keep the price point down to $700.

The Gateway will be among the first PCs to get the third-gen Intel Core processors, though shipping dates aren't yet available. Also due to sport Ivy Bridge is a Gateway FX desktop line, which is said to be announced soon.
