Samsung rolls next Galaxy S teaser, takes dig at Apple

Samsung Next Galaxy teaser overwhelmed

Samsung on Monday started showing a teaser video (embedded below) for its upcoming next-generation Galaxy S. Following a countdown that started Sunday, the clip is short on details but talks about having a galaxy that "fits perfectly into your hand." In a probable dig at Apple, it also claims that the new phone will help avoid users become "sheep," an ironic statement for a company hoping to outsell Apple in smartphones.

The video ends in showing the same blue and white droplets from the official invitation for the May 3 event in London. Its repeated references may be a clue to the color scheme, although it would be similar to the very dark blue and white of existing Samsung phones like the Galaxy Note.

Demand has been strong enough that the site has been rendered nearly inoperable by traffic.

Full details aren't expected until May 3 itself, although when any resulting phone ships isn't apparent. The unusually late introduction has been interpreted as a sign that Samsung wants to keep the ship date closer to the introduction.

    Not bright

How smart is it to insult your potential customers. Call me a sheep and I will never consider anything you have to say again.

I agree, it's a pretty sheep shot. (scnr)

And it's not even original... I guess they wanted to call Apple's customers "lemmings", but realised it might have been a little too obvious....

A Sheep of a Different Colour

What Samsung is really saying is that they would like us to be THEIR sheep instead.

Samsung is like a stalker sitting outside a woman's bedroom window, admiring everything she does; leering at her curves, then telling his friends about that stuck-up b**** who won't give him the time of day.

Your fixation with Apple isn't healthy, Samsung. Let it go. And put down those binoculars.

    Apple-buying consumers are

considered sheep because they buy expensive products with less features that can be had from another company for less money. In other words, Apple-buying consumers aren't reasoning properly (stupid) and are merely following a brand logo which generally makes them blind followers. Android followers are smarter because they're supposedly getting more for their money through deductive reasoning and aren't considered sheep. At least that's my theory on the subject of who are sheep and who aren't. It seems when you have more choices of devices to choose from, the less of a sheep you are because you have to think about it. I find the whole sheep concept very amusing, though. Most humans act like sheep in some form or another. That's the whole point of an orderly society.

Hey, at least you got a choice.

You can either be Apple's sheep... or Google's b*tch.

If only Samsung products could stand on their own, without the need to constantly go after Apple in their ads :-(

You mean like the Apple "Mac vs PC" ads against Microsoft a few years go?? Yes that was classy.
