NVIDIA adds countdown to teaser for likely GeForce GTX 690

NVIDIA may unveil GeForce GTX 690 on April 28


NVIDIA has now added a countdown to its earlier Facebook teaser for what is expected to be the GeForce GTX 690 graphics card. The official announcement will be made on April 28 at 7:30PM Pacific time at the the NVIDIA Gaming Festival in Shanghai, China. A live stream of the event will be available for viewing on GeForce.com.

The festival is expected to attract 6,000 local and 50,000 online attendees. Gamers will compete in StarCraft 2,League of Legends, and DOTA tournaments for $40,000 in cash and prizes.

The image hints at a dual-chip graphics card with two sets of heatsinks. It may be the GTX 690, which would sit atop the currently available GTX 680. Pricing may be in the range of $600.
