White Optimus Vu expected to appeal to women
LG has promised to offer a white version of its Optimus Vu smartphone at SK Telecom in its home market of South Korea. The large, five-inch display of the Optimus Vu nearly rivals the 5.3-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note, but sports a 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the Note's 16:10. LG expects the white Vu to appeal to younger users and women.
The technical specs carry on unchanged, with the 1024x768-resolution display and dual-core, 1.5GHz processor. Its body is 8.5mm thick, despite housing a large, 2,080mAh battery along with an eight-megapixel camera out back and a 1.3-megapixel camera in the front. The OS is Android 2.3, which is preloaded onto the 32GB of storage space. There is DLNA support and an HDMI output, along with Wi-Fi Direct compatibility. South Korean models also get a T-DMB TV tuner.
If and when the white Optimus Vu arrives in North America remains to be seen.
