HP Envy 4, Envy 6 internal documents leaked
Leaked HP internal documents show that HP is prepping the release of two new ultrabooks that are set to join its HP Envy 14 Spectre, although likely at the lower end of the price range. The HP Envy 6 (15.6-inch) ultrabook has had its key specifications spilled in the leak, while the details of smaller Envy 4 (14-inch) ultrabook can only currently be speculated at.
The Envy 6 will sport a Sandy Bridge-based Core i5 (2467M) processor clocked at 1.6GHz. It will center on a relatively low-resolution 1366x768 display, which hints that it will enter the market priced between $800 and $1000. It will support up to 8GB of RAM and will run a discrete AMD Radeon HD 7670M GPU with 2GB of VRAM. Storage will by a hybrid array comprised of a 500GB spinning hard drive (5400RPM) partnered with a 32GB mSATA SSD.
The Envy 4 may offer similar specifications, although it is likely that its smaller footprint may lead to a slightly thinner and lighter design. Specifications could well remain on par for the most part, although its smaller size could mean that its storage configuration may differ and that it may go without the discrete GPU. Although no launch details are available, the use of Intel's Sandy Bridge processors should help to see them on the market sooner rather than later. [via Laptop Reviews]
