Japan's Mouse outs 2.2lb ultrabook, the LuvBook X

Japan's Mouse Computer has just unveiled its carbon fiber-bodied ultrabook, the LuvBook X, which looks very much like a MacBook Air competitor. It weighs just under 2.2lbs (less than a kilogram) and has an 11.6-inch, 1366x768 display. Processing power comes from one of two 1.6GHz Core i5 Ivy Bridge processors.

There is also 4GB of RAM onboard along with a 128GB SSD. Connections include a Mini DisplayPort, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, and Wi-Fi along with Bluetooth 4.0. There is a microSD memory card slot and a headphone jack as well.

The sealed battery is said to offer 5.5 hours of operating life as well. The chiclet keyboard is also no backlit. This stands in contrast to the Air, which is also 3.4oz (95 grams) heavier.

The ultrabook will cost 89,800 yen in Japan (about $1,100) though ship dates or availability in other markets isn't known. [via Impress]
