Panasonic's Eluga Android phone now in the UK

UK electronics retailer Expansys is now offering the Panasonic Eluga smartphone for sale as an unlocked device. Introduced at MWC, the Android 2.3-powered smartphone is powered by a dual-core, 1GHz TI OMAP processor and 1GB of RAM. It is entirely waterproof, however, and an upgrade from the current Android 2.3.5 to Android 4.0 is promised to come this summer.

The phone supports quad-band GSM and 900MHz and 2,100MHz UMTS/HSPA bands. Other hardware specs include 8GB of built-in storage space, a 4.3-inch, 960x540, Super AMOLED display, and an eight-megapixel camera. Its battery is rated at just 1,150mAh, however.

Expansys offers free shipping within the UK for the £370, tax-inclusive (nearly $600) device. The phone launched in Japan at the end of March before arriving in Germany in mid-April. [via AndroidCentral]
