Sony Tablet S receives ICS upgrade and Face Unlock

An update has been released for the Sony Tablet S. The previously promised upgrade installs Android 4.0 onto the tablet and offers an updated interface as well as other extras such as Face Unlock.

Notable additions include a panoramic camera mode, an updated gallery viewer with SD card access and editing tools, “Small Apps” built for multitasking, enhancements to the browser and new Home Screen actions. Android Beam is not included due to the lack of NFC on the device.

Sony S Tablet owners will be notified of the update when the tablet is connected via Wi-Fi.
