HP Envy 4 now available for pre-order in China

updated 03:05 pm EDT, Thu April 26, 2012

Ultrabook starting at $871

The previously leaked HP Envy 4 is now available for pre-order in China, with international availability expected to follow soon. The Envy 4 is the lowest-priced option in HP's Envy ultrabook line.

Weighing in at 3.85 pounds, the Envy 4 boasts an 8.5-hour battery life, 14-inch 1366x768 display, and 4GB to 8GB of RAM. The ultrabook comes with an Intel Core i5 dual-core Sandy Bridge processor, though it is believed that the mainboard chipset in the Envy 4 is capable of supporting Intel's lower-power Ivy Bridge processors, so future iterations of the notebook may see that processor upgrade.

The Envy 4 is expected to be followed at some point by the Envy 6, a similarly-specced 15.6-inch ultrabook. Along with the Envy 14 Spectre, the Envy 4 and Envy 6 will occupy the lower end of the price range for HP's ultrabooks. The Envy 4 is available starting at $871, and the Envy 6 is expected to be priced under $1,000. [via Laptoping]
