Verizon Android 4.0 updates pushes in short window

A telling leak has uncovered at least tentative dates for Verizon's long-in-waiting Android 4.0 updates. The HTC Rezound would go first, according to an anonymous Reddit user, with a test theoretically active now and wrapping up May 7. Customers would start getting the update over the air two days later, on May 9.

The Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX will have started a few days later bot take 10 days longer to wrap. Testing would be done on May 17 and see the push on May 21. Verizon's main uncertainty would be Xoom updates: the 3G and 4G models' upgrades were "on hold" for technical approval at the carrier.

Most such updates reportedly take two weeks to complete once they start, giving most users Android 4.0 by the end of May.

The dates aren't guaranteed and could be subject to change if HTC, Motorola, or Verizon finds a bug. It would still provide a relief for US device owners that had been told they might have to wait until the summer.
