LinkedIn implements calendar integration with mobile app

View meeting participants' profiles, postings

Capitalizing on the 22 percent daily userbase utilization of LinkedIn on mobile platforms, version 5.0 of the LinkedIn iOS application brings both a native iPad version as well as tight calendar integration to the year-old application. The LinkedIn application update is available on the Android Marketplace as well as a universal iOS version on the Apple App Store.

The new calendar integration allows a list of participants in an upcoming meeting to be consolidated and easily located on LinkedIn. At a glance, the user can see not only the meeting participants' LinkedIn profiles, but recent posts to the service. The iOS version of the application adds both iPhone and iPad Retina Display support.

The mobile aspect is the fastest-growing service of LinkedIn. The site sees about 20 searches for profiles every second by way of mobile devices, and 40 profile views every second across the entire user base. Devices like the iPad have seen a 250 percent year over year growth since 2011.

    Beautiful

The application is really well done - really nice user experience.

We're working on a similar product for Google Calendar. Gijit (http://gijit.co) connects to Google Calendar and pulls in information about the events for the next 48 hours - who you're meeting with (including their LinkedIn profiles, Twitter posts etc...), and location information including maps and nearby things like coffee shops, restaurants etc...

We're looking for beta testers - sign up at http://gijit.co for early access.
