Intel shows off super-small desktop PC board

Next Unit of Computing is smaller than miniITX
At its Platinum Summit 2012 event in London last week, Intel showed off a super-small desktop PC board dubbed the Next Unit of Computing, or NUC. It measures just under four inches square and has room for a Core i3 processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, as well as Thunderbolt, USB, and HDMI ports. A miniITX board, in comparison, measures in at 6.7 by 6.7 inches (17 by 17cm).
The circuits are similar to those in notebook PCs. Intel will release two consumer-oriented versions of the NUC, and two more for digital signage. These will have VESA 75 mounts for attaching to the back of HDTVs or displays.
Release dates or prices for the NUCs aren't known. [via SweClockers]
