Ultraportable ThinkPads revealed on Swiss site
The previously leaked Ivy Bridge-based notebook offerings from Lenovo have now appeared in images on the Internet, as Swiss retailer ThinkpadCenter.ch has published a photo and information on specs for Lenovo's forthcoming ultrabook and tablet. The new Lenovo offerings are expected to be available within the next eight weeks.
The leaked image shows the Lenovo ThinkPad X230, an ultrabook that appears to retain the familiar ThinkPad aesthetic, with a chiclet-style AccuType keyboard. The site also contains information on a ThinkPad X230t, a tablet version, though no pictures were available. Both the laptop and tablet will feature 12.5-inch, 1366x768 displays. Storage options include 320GB and 500GB traditional HDDs, as well as a 180GB SSD option.
The new ThinkPads are not Lenovo's only Ivy Bridge offerings, as last week brought news of the Lenovo A720, an all-in-one desktop model powered by Intel's third-generation processors. For the forthcoming ultrabook and tablet, though, the inclusion of the Ivy Bridge mobile processors will mean lower power consumption and, it is expected, improved battery life.
