Expands Griffin Technology's mobile offerings
Featuring the ability to pair with two Bluetooth phones, the Griffin Technology SmartTalk Solar hands-free speakerphone uses a built-in solar panel to keep the device's battery charged for longer than a conventional battery-powered Bluetooth unit. The device began shipping on April 26.
Setting it apart from some of its competitors, the SmartTalk Solar speakerphone has a motion-sensing, auto-connect link to connect to a previously-paired smartphone as soon as the phone enters the perimeter of the speaker. The solar panel provides extended talk time, depending on sun exposure.
The SmartTalk Solar is compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and 4S. Many Android-based phones can use the SmartTalk Solar as well -- the list of compatible phones is available on the Griffin Technology website. The device sells for $70.
