RIM shows off 4G LTE tablet at breakfast
Thanks to The Canadian Reviewer, an image of the previously rumored 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook has emerged at a BlackBerry World breakfast function. As yet, no release date has been confirmed for the device.
The Canadian site this morning published a blurry picture of a slide showing details on the device. The updated PlayBook will come with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, as well as NFC capabilities. The slide states that the device will maintain a constant connection for e-mail, eliminating the need for VPN to access corporate email. The device will also support both HTML5 and Adobe Flash.
A 4G LTE version of BlackBerry's PlayBook was confirmed earlier this year, then spotted at the FCC a month and a half ago. The addition of high speed connectivity to the enterprise-centric device may help RIM gain a foothold in a sphere dominated by Apple's iPad and an array of Android tablets.
