Tailored towards first time smart phone buyers
The Huawei Prism, a basic smartphone, is scheduled for sale starting May 6 at Best Buy, with wider retail availability later in the month. This new 3G phone will be on the T-Mobile network, and runs Android 2.3. Retail pricing is not known.
The T-Mobile Huawei Prism has a 3.5-inch, 480x320 (HVGA) screen, 2GB of storage (upgradeable to 32GB with a SD card), and a 3.2MP rear camera. The 600Mhz processor points to an entry-level product, and makes upgrades to Android 4.0 unlikely. The phone is available in two different grey colors, along with one model in red.
Best Buy begins retail availability on May 6. Walmart follows on May 9, with all other T-Mobile sales channels receiving inventory on May 23.
