Pending M14x, M17x, M18x laptop orders upgraded to Ivy Bridge


Boutique gaming PC manufacturer Alienware users with outstanding laptop orders were informed by email today that the placed order is being upgraded to Ivy Bridge processors at no extra cost. No further delay in the placed order is expected. The Ivy Bridge upgrade is exclusive to Alienware orders, and will not apply to parent company Dell's orders placed before the Ivy Bridge announcement.

Kindle Fire software update version 6.3.1 adds to parental controls

An update pushed to Kindle Fire owners today added to the tablet's parental controls. Added is the ability to password protect purchases, disable access to specific content libraries, and block access to the Silk browser. Version 6.3.1 is a free update.

Norton 360 Everywhere available for multiple device protection

Today, Symantec announced Norton 360 Everywhere's availability worldwide. Consumers can choose any combination of Norton 360 Premiere for Windows, Norton Internet Security for Macintosh, and Norton Mobile Security for Android. The new subscription-based product offers one license key to activate protection on up to five devices for a MSRP of $99 per year.
