Wikipad Android tablet gets Gaikai's web gaming

Streaming game service Gaikai, which teamed up with Walmart last year on browser-based game demos, is back in the news. This time around, it has partnered with electronics manufacturer Wikipad to bring its games to an Android-based tablet. The tablet has grown to include a 10.1-inch screen rather than the 8.1-inch version when it was shown off at CES.

There is also a quad-core processor and a lighter body, along with the option of a 3G radio. A Wi-Fi Direct accessory will let games to be accessed through an HDTV. The controller is built into the tablet, though it's likely detachable. Local games can also be played on the tablet. Which version of Android runs on the tablet isn't specified, however.

When the tablet will launch or what it will cost remains unknown, however. [via Joystiq]
