Adobe starts shipping Creative Suite CS6 for Mac and PC

Adobe has started shipping its eagerly anticipated Creative Suite CS6 for both Mac and PC. Its alternative version of CS6 in the cloud known as Creative Cloud will launch on May 11, offering users the ability to access the entire suite of apps for a monthly access fee. Revamped applications now available for purchase include Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Flash Professional in four suite versions. Apps also remain available for purchase individually.

Suites start at $1,299 for CS6 Design Standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat X Pro, Bridge, and Media Encoder), with CS6 Design & Web Premium (Standard plus, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, and Fireworks) kicking the cost up to $1899. CS Production Premium also costs $1899, but drops the web creation apps for Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, SpeedGrade, Prelude, and Encore. If you want the lot, CS6 Master Collection tops out at $2,599.

Creative Cloud takes Adobe CS6 into the cloud for a monthly fee starting at $50 when purchasing and annual subscription up front. Rolling month-to-month fees will be $75, although users of CS3 or higher who opt to switch to the cloud can access a discounted monthly rate starting of $30. Creative Cloud users will have access to always up to date apps as well as two cloud-specific apps in Muse and Edge.

    Almost sounds religious

So they want you to pay a monthly tithe to the Church of Adobe now?
