10-inch tablet starts at $450
The 10-inch model of Toshiba's Excite tablet line is now available for order. The Excite 10 comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models. All models feature a 10.1-inch, 1280x800 Gorilla Glass display and are listed at about 10 hours of battery life.
The Excite 10 does not support Bluetooth 4.0, but does feature Bluetooth 3.0 support and sports a five-megapixel rear camera as well as a two-megapixel front-facing camera. Starting at $450, the tablets feature NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processors and run Android 4.0. The 16GB sells for $450, while the 32GB and 64GB models go for $530 and $650, respectively.
The Excite 10 fits between the Excite 7.7 and Excite 13, which are expected to ship later this year. Toshiba's previous tablet offerings have been knocked for poor build quality and performance, but Electronista's hands-on time with the Excite line found these tablets to be more responsive than Toshiba's prior efforts.
