MetalDock iPhone charger hugs iPhone

Bracketron have unveiled the MetalDock charging dock for iPhone 4 and 4S. The curved L-shape dock was revealed at the same time as the Mushroom GreenZero battery charger at CTIA Wireless. The MetalDock is a curved metal combination dock for charging and synching, while the Mushroom GreenZero is an energy-conscious wall charger suitable for world travel.

Fitting snug to one corner of an iPhone 4S, the MetalDock can be turned to allow for both horizontal and vertical mounting. The accompanying three-foot cable appears to help stabilize the dock.

The Mushroom GreenZero supplies power when the large green mushroom-styled button is pressed, automatically shutting off once the device is fully charged or unplugged. This saves electricity to a level where the manufacturers claim there is zero standby energy consumption.

The Mushroom GreenZero will be in three varieties including with an Apple 30-pin connector suitable for iPhones and iPods, microUSB cable, and USB socket. These will retail for between $28 and $35 when they are released in July. The MetalDock is due in June for $35.
