Logitech adds night vision to Alert security camera range

Logitech has revealed two new items in their Alert video security system range. The 750n indoor master system is a complete surveillance system in a box with powerful HD night vision capabilities, while the 700n indoor add-on offers an extra camera to the HomePlug-powered security system. The new system follows on from their earlier 750 and 750i security system releases.

Both the complete system and the add-on camera can deliver a 960x720 resolution, 15fps picture, and a 130-degree field of view. Night vision is also included with this release, with a claimed viewing distance of 50 feet in complete darkness, or twice what Logitech say standard cameras can cover. Sixteen motion-detection zones can be created over the system to trigger video recording and phone or e-mail notifications, with the option to view video feeds remotely.

The Alert 750n system is expected to retail for $300, with the 700n add-on camera for around $230. Both are to be sold in the US and Europe later this month.
