New 1080p IPS LED monitor will cost $240 in June

At its press event in China, HP showed off an upcoming HD monitor, the 23-inch 2311xi. It uses In-Plane Switching technology for the LED backlight to make the colors sharper and the viewing angles wider. Connections are generous and include a VGA, DVI-D and HDCP-compliant HDMI inputs.

Those viewing angles are said to be 178 degrees from any direction. It gets a three million to one dynamic contrast ratio and 1,000:1 typical contrast ratio. The brightness is set at 250 nits, while the typical gray-to-gray response time is 7ms.

The 2311xi's green credentials include a mercury-free backlight, arsenic-free display glass and Energy Start qualification.

The monitor ships on June 24, priced at $240.

    interesting price

they had just released a 21.5" IPS panel a few months ago that is more than this 23" will be. I can see selling a few of these. The HP IPS panels I've sold in the past couple of years have all been liked by the users.
