Spotify details changes to version 0.83 of the desktop app
Spotify on Friday detailed the latest update to its Windows and OS X desktop apps that brings with it a number of improvements. Version 0.83 brings with it the ability to create radio stations based on a playlist or an album thanks to dedicated buttons. Start Playlist Radio and Start Album Radio will launch a stream of similar music based on each respective category.
An Instant Search feature was also brought out, returning suggestions when hovering over results, or letting users navigate between using the arrow keys. The suggestions will then render automatically in the main view.
At the same time, right-clicking on any album, playlist or track and selecting the Copy Embed Code option will give users HTML codes they can use to post Spotify Play Buttons to a website or blog.
Finally, sharing directly over Tumblr or Twitter with shortened spoti.fi links is available as well.
