Huawei Ascend D1 undergoes FCC testing

updated 01:26 pm EDT, Mon May 14, 2012

Dual-core 1.5GHz Ascend D1 approved by the FCC

The Huawei Ascend D1 introduced at MWC alongside the quad-core Ascend D Quad has just undergone FCC testing. In the process, it has become the first of the Ascend range of devices that the regulatory body has approved for sale in North America. The listing cement the presence of a quadband GSM radio and pentaband HSPA+/WCDMA radio, meaning it will support AT&T and T-Mobile networks when unlocked.

The phone otherwise has a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor and is expected to ship anytime now, having missed its originally expected April launch window. Pricing and any carrier partners haven't been revealed yet either, nor is it known whether the quad-core version will follow anytime soon remains to be seen. [via Engadget]
