U-verse for Xbox 360 removed from sale temporarily

AT&T has stopped sales of the U-verse bundle for Xbox 360, citing work to “improve and enhance” the functionality, according to a message on its website. The bundle will not be up for sale again until the new functionality is added, a representative has told Multichannel.

It is unknown what exactly the updates will consist of, but considering the ease of updating software through the already existing data connection, it is likely to be changes to the hardware supplied in the pack. It is speculated that AT&T could be moving towards a purely Xbox Live app offering the same functionality, similar to how other television providers support the console.

Debuting in October 2010, the $99 package allowed users to both watch U-verse TV as a secondary set-top box and access recordings from a DVR on the same local network.
