Sony intros pre-buy feature for PSN games

First game available for pre-buy will be Sorcery
Sony has just revealed it will allow PlayStation Network (PSN) users to buy and download games before they're released, but they won't be able to play them until their on-sale date. The move mimics the way Steam distributes its game titles. The option should appeal to hard-core gamers who don't want to wait for the download on the release date.
Sony will simply send an unlock code to the PS3 to allow playing it immediately upon the release. The first title offered this way will be Sorcery, and it's now available from the European PSN store.
The move should also appeal out those with slow Internet connections. Publishers will also get one more tool with which to promote digital downloads. [via MCV]
