Sony intros NEX-F3 with upgraded specs

Following a series of leaks, Sony has made the NEX-F3 official. As with the NEX-7 the NEX-F3 includes an in-built pop-up flash, while retaining the option to attach a professional quality flash. In a first for the NEX line, it includes a 180-swivel LCD display allowing for easy self-portrait taking.

The NEX-F3 incorporates a 16.1 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor coupled with Sony’s Bionz image processor. Its ISO sensitivity has exceptional range of 200-16000, while it comes standard with an 18-55mm single lens or, twin lens kit with an additional 55-210mm lens.

It can shoot photos in continuous burst mode at up to 5.5 frames per second and can shoot video in AVCHD and MPEG-4 at 1080p. Its 3-inch LCD display has a 921,000 pixel resolution and in addition to tilting upwards at 180 degrees, can also tilt downwards at 13 degrees.

It is expected to ship in Australia in mid-June from $699 with a single lens kit, while the twin lens kit version will retail for $1000. It will be available in silver, black, and pink hues. US pricing and a North American release will follow.
