UK games now being regulated by Video Standards Council
The Video Standards Council has become the UK's sole statutory video-games regulator, administering the PEGI rating system. The changes now mean age checking for the sale of any game rated PEGI 12, 16 or 18 would become enforceable under UK law. Previously, the system was in an advisory capacity and not legally enforceable, with PEGI games rated 15 or higher also being rated by the BBFC for content.
Samsung 4G LTE hotspot outed by US Cellular
US Cellular has added the Samsung SCH-LC11 mobile hotspot to its range. The device allows for up to five Wi-Fi connections to use the same LTE connection. The hotspot is available through the US Cellular website and through stores from May 21, with a launch offer of $50 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
IK iRig MIX audio mixer ships
IK Multimedia is shipping the iRig MIX, a compact DJ and audio mixer geared for iOS devices but supported by other equipment. An optional free app turns an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into a virtual turntable for the mixer, offering both dual- and single-device modes. The iRig MIX sells for approximately $100.
