Droid, Amaze, Desire, Evo, Incredible, Sensation, others to be updated over summer

HTC has upgraded its Android FAQ page to lay out the timeline over which a number of its handsets will receive upgrades to Android 4.0. Over the next few months, the Droid Incredible 2, Amaze, Desire, Desire HD, Evo 3D, Evo 4G+, and a number of other models are slated to receive an update to the latest version of Android.

The FAQ page shows a range of months for each phone model, allowing for differences in carrier adoption times. All models of the Sensation, for example, are expected to be updated to Android 4.0 by June, while Sensation handsets on T-Mobile began receiving the over-the-air update on May 16.

An update schedule for the Droid Incredible 2 has yet to be determined, though HTC notes that it will likely receive the update by the end of August. The HTC Amaze will begin receiving its update on May 21 on T-Mobile, with all handsets slated to be upgraded by June. The Desire S and HD will be upgraded from June through August, while the Evo line is slated for May through June.

HTC states that the majority of its devices will receive upgrades in June and July, with the round of upgrades expected to be finished by August. It can take up to 45 days for all carriers and countries to get an update after a rollout has begun. Further information on updates is available on HTC's Android 4.0 FAQ page.
