First Nokia World event to happen September 5
Nokia has just revealed it will make some key changes to its annual Nokia World event. Apart from announcing earlier that it's moving to its home country of Finland, as revealed earlier this year, the event will now be broken up into a series of smaller ones. Nokia staff compare it more to SXSW rather than CES in terms of size and format.
The first such event will happen in Helsinki on September 5-6, which is also a few weeks earlier than the original September 25-26 date. This kick-off event will be by invitation only to operator and retail partners and is therefore unlikely to have future product news.
Each event will therefore cater to the target audience in the hopes that it's more rewarding. The other events and their focus will be announced closer to the date, Nokia promises.
