Batman-edition Nokia Lumia 900 out in UK on June 1

updated 12:38 pm EDT, Wed May 30, 2012

Sales of limited edition Batman Lumia 900 restricted to 900

The Batman version of Nokia's Lumia 900 is hitting the UK on Friday. A preorder page on the Phones4U website shows the limited-edition Windows Phone 7.5 handset, complete with a laser-etched Batman logo on the back and preloaded with The Dark Knight Rises-related content, ahead of the film's July 20 release date.

Similar to the limited-edition Lumia 800, on-handset content includes a black and grey skin, exclusive character wallpapers, ringtones, and a The Dark Knight Rises app with Foursquare functionality. The handset retains the 4.3-inch super AMOLED display with a 480x800 resolution, protected with Gorilla Glass. A representative of Phones4u speaking to SlashGear advised that there will only be 900 of the limited-edition handsets for sale in the UK.

Phones4U is offering the handset for no charge on £31 monthly contracts or higher, with a SIM-free version being sold for £600. Customers will receive the handsets on June 1, with free tickets to see the The Dark Knight Rises in theaters also thrown in.
