Sony offers up LL Cool J-inspired Vaio E 14P

Sony has chosen Computex to take the wraps of its new VAIO E14P Future Sounds My Connect Studio Package. The Sony take on Beats Audio includes a revamped and specially-styled E-series notebook, bundled with Sony DJ-style headphones and a Boomdizzle All-Access Pass all for $900. The All-Access pass gives each user a one-year subscription to LL Cool J’s Boomdizzle (an online music creation and real-time collaboration website), 10 hours per month of session time, and 25 exclusive tracks.

The My Connect Studio collaborative technology is the centerpiece of the offering, allowing multiple musicians to work collaboratively in real time using web connections. The E14P notebook follows the wrap-around styling cues of Sony’s other E-series models, but also includes red accents to match the bundled headphones.

It is powered by a third-generation Intel Core i5-3210M processor (2.50GHz/3.10GHz) matched with 8GB of RAM. A 750GB hard drive is included, along with a 14-inch display with a 1600x900 resolution. The included headphones are Sony’s MDR-V55 model, which should get a boost by the Dolby Home Theatre audio v4 tech packed in the notebook.

The rest of Sony’s E-series line-up has also been refreshed. The entry-level 11-inch Vaio starts from $449, the low price of admission made possible by the use of an AMD processor. The 14-inch model sticks with the older second-generation Core i5 processor, with buyers of the 15-inch model getting a choice of the older processors or the new Ivy Bridge CPUs, as well as picking up a brushed aluminum finish.
