Galaxy Note 10.1 surfaces in pebble blue

A video (embedded below) has surfaced showing the forthcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1 reboot. It appears to verify all of the key specification revisions that have been rumored following its original unveiling at Mobile World Congress in February. The revamped Galaxy Note 10.1 will also come in the troublesome pebble blue color that Samsung is using on the new Galaxy S III.

The video also confirms the presence of the 1.4GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-based Exynos 4412 processor seen in the international version of the Galaxy S III. It also shows, for the first time, the inclusion of a Mali 400 GPU, as well as 1GB of RAM and a 5-megapixel camera. As rumored, a slot has now been incorporated to stow the device's signature S-Pen when not in use.

The effort that Samsung has put into the Galaxy Note 10.1 suggests that it has replaced the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in its lineup as its flagship tablet the device. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, by comparison, is much lower specified and slots in Samsung's tablet range as mid-tier device. This move may have been triggered by the unexpected sales success of the Galaxy Note 5.1, which has now shipped 7 million units . Based on its sales, demand appears to be strong for a tablet with a properly conceived pen input, whereas Samsung has posted poor sales of its non pen-based tablets.

The pen IS mightier than the finger!

And with Android 4 built in stylus APIs it's about to become ubiquitous.

Even Apple is hurrying up to get some stylus patents
