Toshiba shows slider PC and Transformer-clone tablet
Toshiba demonstrated concept devices for Windows 8 at Computex. The prototypes shown off included a tablet and keyboard dock combination, a slider PC and a Windows RT laptop, writes The Verge. Although three devices were shown, the computer maker did not reveal what the potential specifications were, if they were currently making any of the devices, nor when anything similar would be released in the future.
One tablet appeared to be very similar to the ASUS Transformer series, in terms of being a tablet with a keyboard dock that could be attached, turning it into a tablet-powered notebook with a touchscreen. A second took the form of a slider, letting a keyboard be pulled out from beneath the tablet screen, and then angled for the desired view and angle.
A third machine demonstrated seemed to be a standard clamshell laptop, but featured a touchscreen which would suit the way the Metro user interface is presented to users.
