Sony ebook store is now web-based while Android app gets detail update
Sony has just launched a web-based ebook store for its Reader e-book devices. It's accessible from any comptuers and web browser, giving users access to their Reader Store accounts. At the same time, Sony updated its Reader by Sony Android app (free, Google Play), which launched in January.
Once signed in, any ebooks bought on the store will arrive on users' smartphone app or any Sony Reader device. The electronic books will also be supported by Adobe DRM-supported apps and devices. Sony believes this will help users access the store anytime without a need to install any software, with supported browsers including Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Safari.
The Android app, meanwhile, gets a new user interface, a landscape view and stability improvements. It still doesn't support third-party browsers, however, though Sony promises this is coming soon.
