Canon EOS Rebel T4i DSLR goes on sale end of June

Following a late leak, the Canon EOS Rebel T4i DSLR is now official. The new flagship model in the EOS Rebel line, the new EOS Rebel T4i utilizes a new 18-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor with Canon’s DIGIC 5 image processor. It is capable of shooting at up to 5fps with an extended ISO range of 100-12800 and incorporates a new variable angle 3-inch capacitive LCD display.

The EOS Rebel T4i also utilizes Canon’s new nine-point autofocus system with a cross-type sensor array and a new hybrid CMOS AF giving fast focus for stills or even video in Live View mode. The AF is also a movie servo offering silent continuous autofocus capabilities. Video can be captured at 1080p/30fps, although shooting at 24fps and 25fps is also an option.

The Canon EOS Rebel T4i will be available at the end of June from $850 (body-only). It will be available for $950 bundled with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II. A third option costing $1200 offers customers a Movie Kit bundle with a new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens thrown in (normally $550 on its own).
