Huawei Activa 4G at MetroPCS becomes the least expensive 4G LTE smartphone
MetroPCS is now offering the least expensive 4G LTE-capable phone on the market with the Huawei Activa 4G. Priced at just $149 without a contract, the phone is currently the price champ, though the price is said to be on for a limited time. The price does include a $50 mail-in rebate, however, so buyers will need to fork out $200 initially.
The phone is also Huawei's first LTE smartphone in the US. The handset sports somewhat pedestrian specs, however, with a 3.5-inch, 320x480 touchscreen and an 800MHz processor. There is also a five-megapixel camera out back, paired with a VGA front-facing unit. Android 2.3 is onboard as well, and the paltry 151MB of onboard memory is supplemented by a microSD memory card slot that supports cards up to 32GB in capacity. MetroPCS includes a 4GB microSD memory card, which is preloaded with a digital copy of Kung-Fu Panda 2.
