Custom USB 3.0 ports coming to new Macs

Sources suggest Apple objected to blue connectors
Apple's next Macs, which are widely expected to be unveiled within hours, may feature customized USB 3.0 ports. Several recent leaks have pointed to USB 3.0 support as a likely feature, however sources have told Electronista that Apple pushed to get its own exclusive grey-colored connectors for upcoming devices, rather than utilizing the existing blue connectors found on most USB 3.0 products.
Apple is said to be the first company that will be allowed to use the new color, which is believed to be exclusive to Apple products and not available for other electronics makers.
The USB 3.0 specifications outlined by the USB Implementers Forum recommend blue pantone plastics as a way to distinguish between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, particularly on systems that contain a mix of different ports. The color is not an absolute requirement, however the USB-IF does demand that hardware makers find some way of making a clear distinction between the ports.
A flurry of rumors point to new Mac Pros and MacBook Pros as the focal point of Apple's WWDC keynote address. A redesigned MacBook Pro is said to be transitioning to a 15-inch Retina display and thinner build, though the company is expected to refresh its current models with new components.

Since it isn't a requirement, any company can make gray if they wanted. Of course, Apple will be the only one, for they only believe in requirements and standards as long as it fits their model.
