Two-year contract required, runs Android 4.0
Best Buy is now offering the HTC One S on T-Mobile for $99, half off the original price when it debuted on the network in April. Off-contract, the handset still sells for its regular price of $650.
New and existing T-Mobile customers are eligible for the sale price, provided they sign up for a two-year contract. Both the HTC One X and the One S have garnered complaints from customers about the build quality, with some of Samsung's design choices appearing to have flaws. The One S has seen a number of reports of the ceramic coating on the phone being prone to chipping, though the issue may be limited to one production run.
The One S features a 4.3-inch, 540x960 AMOLED display, an eight-megapixel camera, a VGA front camera, and runs Android 4.0 on a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4. Electronista spent some hands-on time with the One S in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress conference, and found the device to be a surprisingly suitable Android phone that briskly handled 2D apps and was easy to hold.
