Update, scheduled for May, arrives late
Owners of Sony's Tablet P can now receive an update to the latest version of Android. The update to Android 4.0.3, announced on Sony's developer blog, brings drag-and-drop folder creation and improved multi-tasking, among other features. The update arrives later than had been expected, and nearly two months after Sony's Tablet S received its Android update.
With the release, the dual-screen Tablet P will be able to take advantage of an updated gallery viewer, SD card access and editing tools, "Small Apps" targeted at multi-tasking, browser enhancements, and a panoramic camera mode.
The Tablet P was originally slated to receive an Android 4.0 update by the end of May. Sony has released no word on what caused the delay in the upgrade, although the company is known to have previously had to tweak Android to optimize it for use on the Tablet P's unique dual-screen form factor.
