Galaxy Tab 7.0 through 10.1 to receive update

Samsung's Galaxy Tab line of tablets is slated to receive an update to the newest version of Android in the coming weeks. A source familiar with Samsung's plans has revealed to SamMobile blog that the Android 4.0 updates will begin rolling out to the Galaxy Tab line in July. Another update on the Samsung Mobile Hong Kong Facebook page confirmed that the updates will be rolling out next month.

The updates will start in July, but most are said to be planned for August. Galaxy Tab 7.7 owners in Europe and Korea will likely be the first to receive the update, with owners in the US getting it a week or so later. The update covers all Galaxy Tab models, from the 7.0 to the 10.1, with the exception of the original Galaxy Tab.

The update will bring improved battery life and performance for the Galaxy Tab line. Users will also see finger-swipe notification clearance, face unlock, and a restyled lock screen. [via SamMobile]
