IR blaster and in-app channel guide help with channel surfing

Belkin is bringing out the @TV Plus, a media streaming box supporting 3G and Wi-Fi. The device pulls audio and video from set-top boxes and streams it to devices running an accompanying app, similarly to a Slingbox, except that the @TV adds mobile recording of live television.

Primarily using component cables for video input instead of the more common HDMI standard, the @TV streams 1080i video to typically free Mac, PC, Android and iOS apps, though tablet versions of the software cost $13. The apps are capable of recording whatever is being received from the @TV for later viewing. An IR Blaster allows for set-top box control from the apps, which also have a built-in channel guide.

The Belkin @TV Plus will be out in mid-July for $150, and the associated apps are due earlier in the month.
