Asus launches high-res Transformer Pad Infinity


The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF 700 will go on sale for $499 in July. First seen at the World Mobile Congress, the 10.1-inch tablet incorporate the highest resolution display yet on an Android tablet in this class at 1920x1200. The Wi-Fi-only model is powered by an NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 processor while the 4G LTE version is powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 ‘Krait’ dual-core processor.

The tablet weighs 1.28 pounds and is backwards compatible with the keyboard dock used on the previous model TF201. The dock integrates a 19.5Wh battery good for an additional five hours of life over the tablets own 25Wh hour battery that delivers eight and a half hours of use. It also uses Bluetooth 3.0 and has an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Transformer Pad Infinity comes pre-installed with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). When it arrives in stores on July 16 starting from $499 for the 32GB version and $599 for the 64GB model with both prices also including 8GB of free cloud storage. The keyboard dock retails separately for $149.
