New apps also heading to Lumia 900 and 610

Nokia has started to update the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 with Windows Phone 7.5. The update brings Flip to Silence and Internet Sharing for Wi-Fi tethering to the handsets, which will also gain new exclusive applications that all Lumia 900 and Lumia 610 users will also receive in the near future, after a limited rollout in select regions.

Camera Extras, already available in the US and China for the Lumia 900 and 610, brings more shot options like Smart Group Shot and Panorama modes, while Contact Share lets users transfer business cards via SMS, and Play To shares pictures, video and music to other DLNA-enabled devices on a local network.

The software update will be rolled out to the Lumia 800 and 710 during June and July, with the apps downloadable from the Windows Phone Marketplace for all of the handsets. Nokia has listed software availability for each region on its Lumia support pages. [via Nokia Conversations]
