Motorola Photon Q LTE heading to Sprint, according to FCC

Photon Q LTE with Sprint LTE radio shows up at FCC

What is believed to be the rumored Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE that should replace the Photon 4G has now been spotted at the FCC. The device would run on Sprint's 1,900MHz LTE network while sporting a 720p resolution display, and at least a dual-core processor, though the final specs aren't yet known. The only other key piece of info gleaned from the FCC test is the XT897 model number.

The phone this one is due to replace, the Photon 4G, launched last summer, by the end of July, on Sprint Nextel. It had a dual-core, 1GHz A9 CPU, 1GB of DDR2, and 16GB of storage space. It also had a 4.3-inch display along with an eight-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front shooter.



Specs of the replacement are going to at the very least match the above, if not exceed them in most cases. Android 2.3 will more than likely make way for Android 4.0 out of the box, and whether the integrated kickstand would carry over is unknown, but also likely. Shipping dates aren't known, but likely to be sometime this summer. [via Engadget]
