Samsung Galaxy Beam goes on sale in the UK

Galaxy Beam now available contract-free from UK retailer for $615
Samsung's pico projector-equipped Galaxy Beam smartphone is now available for purchase in the UK. Retailer Expansys is listing the unlocked phone, priced at £395 (about $613). The signature feature can produce 15 lumens of light and can project 640x360-pixel images up to 50 inches in size.
Samsung is quick to point out that, at 12.5mm thick, is the thinnest projector phone on the market. Other, more pedestrian features include a 1GHz, dual-core Cortex A9 chip paired with 768MB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. A microSD memory card slot lets users add more storage. A four-inch touchscreen with 480x800 resolution acts as the interface. A five-megapixel camera lets users capture photos and videos. Android 2.3 is preloaded.
