HP unveils Internet terminal monitor, new displays

Internet terminal allows for cloud access without PC
HP today announced the availability of a range of new display offerings. The new displays range from 18.5 to 23 inches and include one model that functions specifically as an Internet terminal, intended for businesses to allow their customers and clients access to the web. All of the models apart from the W2017d are currently available on HP's website and come with an instant discount.
The Passport 1912nm is a monitor-based solution allowing businesses to offer guests and customers access to cloud computing without the need for a PC. The 18.5-inch monitor plugs directly into an Ethernet connection, and the device also features five USB ports and a 4-in-1 media card reader. It comes with a full-size HP USB keyboard and mouse as well as built-in two-watt speakers.
The Passport 1912nm -- available for $260 on HP's site -- outputs at 1366x768 with a 600:1 static contrast ratio. Inside, it packs an ARM processor, 2GB Flash RAM, and 1GB DDR2 memory.
The 2311xi is a 23-inch IPS LED backlit monitor with VGA, DVI-D and HDMI (with HDCP support) inputs. It displays in 1920x1080 Full HD resolution, with 178-degree wide (and tall) viewing angles. The 2311xi has a 72 percent color gamut, and a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It's available for $200 on HP's website after $60 in instant savings.
The W2071d is a 20-inch display featuring an LED-backlit LCD monitor. It has VGA and DVI-D (with HDCP) inputs and outputs at 1600x900 resolution. The W2071 features a 5ms on-off response time processor, 72 percent color gamut, and 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast.
The 20-inch display on the 2011xi features IPS panel technology, VGA inputs, and DVI-D inputs with HDCP support. It has a maximum output of 1600x900, with 178-degree wide (and tall) viewing angles. HP touts the display's Overdrive technology, which reduces blurring. The monitor has a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 72 percent color gamut. HP's website has the 2011xi for $150 after a $40 instant discount.
The W2371d feaures a 23-inch LED-backlit LCD monitor and is configured for "Plug & Play" set up. It has VGA and DVI-D (with HDCP) inputs and an 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The W2371d outputs at a maximum of 1920x1080, has a 72 percent color gamut, and a 5ms on-off response time. It features 170 degree horizontal and 160 degree vertical viewing angles. It is available for $150 after a $50 instant discount on HP's site.
All of the monitors feature arsenic-free display glass and are EPEAT Silver registered. With the exception of the Passport 1912nm, all are Energy STAR qualified and contain recyclable plastics and packaging. The Passport 1912nm contains BFR/PVC-free plastics and finishes.
