Tiny Wings HD introduces split-screen multiplayer, AI racing
Tiny Wings is heading to the iPad. Spiritual successor to the iPhone game, Tiny Wings HD (App Store, $3) adds on-device multiplayer in a chapter called Hill Party, where a second player takes half of the display in a race to 10,000 points. Flight School is a single-player race against three other AI-controlled birds across 15 new levels.
Steam commences summer sale, collapses under user numbers
Steam's summer sale has begun, bringing reduced prices on select Mac and PC titles available through the company's download service. This year, in a “Community Choice” poll, users will have the option to vote on which games are put on sale, along with the daily offers and game collections that are a staple to the event. Shortly after commencing the promotion, Steam started suffering Error 503 messages, due to the sudden influx of 4.5 million concurrent visitors requesting online store pages.

Seal Shield has launched a promotion for its iPhone and iPad cases, which are claimed to be completely waterproof—even submersible and washable. Aimed at the healthcare industry, the form-fitting, polyurethane covers can be disinfected safely to help reduce the spread of infections from using the touch-screen devices. The Seal Shields are on sale for around $20.
