HTC Vertex HD tablet surfaces, along with mystery device

At least one new HTC tablet en route, possibly two

The new HTC tablet that is headed to the UK and elsewhere may be called the Vertex HD. Based on the leaked NenaMark 2 benchmarks, the new tablet will center on a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display and be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. It is also running Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), though there are no hints as to whether it has "something unique to offer" as HTC spokesperson teased yesterday.

The Vertex HD benchmarking has also revealed itself to incorporate Beats Audio drivers, a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. HTC's previous entries into the tablet space, led by the 7-inch HTC Flyer did not fare well. Even though it incorporated a stylus, which has helped propel sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.3, it was prohibitively expensive which helped to put the kibosh on sales.

In a further benchmark leak, another new HTC device seems to have been caught in testing as well. Identified only by its codename, the HTC 6435LVW could potentially blow the Samsung Galaxy S III's quad-core Exynos 4412 out of the water with its Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Its Egypt Offscreen 720p score of 13,685 boasts up to 20 percent better performance than its nearest competitor. It also appears to center on a 1080p display with a 1794x1080 resolution. Unknown is whether it is a phone or tablet, likely the latter, but looks to be headed to Verizon. [via PhoneArena]
